Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 2, 2026
JustForty is a small Ontario business run by me, Ty. When you join my email list or buy from me, you trust me with some of your personal information. This page explains, in plain language, what I collect, why, who helps me handle it, and the choices you have. I follow Canada's federal privacy law, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Who is responsible
I am responsible for the personal information JustForty collects. If you have a question or a request, email me at hello@justforty.com.
What I collect, and why
I collect only what I need:
- When you join the email list (for example, to get The First Drawer): your email address and, if you give it, your first name. I use them to send you what you asked for and my emails about caregiving, planning and JustForty's products. You confirm your sign-up by email before you're added.
- When you buy something: your name, email address, the country you're in, and the details of your order. I use them to deliver your purchase, send your receipt, help if something goes wrong, and keep the records Canadian tax law requires. Your card or PayPal details are handled by the payment processor, and I never see or store them.
- When you email me: your email address and whatever you choose to write. I use them to reply.
- When you visit the site: like most websites, the site and its hosting company automatically record basic technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visited, to keep the site running and secure.
I don't sell, rent or trade your personal information, and I won't use it for purposes other than these without asking you first.
Your consent and your choices
By joining the list or buying from me, you agree to the uses described here. You can change your mind at any time:
- Unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of every email. I'll stop emailing you right away, and always within 10 business days.
- Ask me to see, correct or delete the personal information I hold about you, by emailing hello@justforty.com. I'll respond within 30 days. Some purchase records must be kept for tax purposes even after you ask me to delete them.
Who helps me handle your information
I use a few trusted service providers to run JustForty. They handle your information only to provide their service to me, and are bound by their own privacy and security commitments:
- Kit (United States): my email list and newsletters.
- Payhip (United Kingdom), together with its payment processors Stripe and PayPal: checkout, payments and downloads. Payhip also collects sales tax where the law requires it.
- DreamHost (United States): website hosting and my email forwarding.
Because some of these companies are outside Canada, your information may be stored or processed in the United States, the United Kingdom or other countries. While it's there, it is subject to those countries' laws, and the authorities there may be able to access it.
Cookies
The site uses a small number of cookies needed for it to work properly, for example to remember settings or to keep checkout secure. I don't use advertising cookies, and I don't track you across other websites.
How long I keep it
- Email list: until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete it.
- Purchase records: six years, as the Canada Revenue Agency requires.
- Emails you send me: as long as I need them to help you, then deleted.
How I protect it
I use reputable service providers with strong security, keep my accounts protected with strong passwords and two-step sign-in, and limit access to me alone. No system is perfectly secure, but I take reasonable care. If a breach ever put you at real risk of significant harm, I would tell you and report it as the law requires.
Children
JustForty is written for adults. I don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If I change this policy, I'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, I'll let subscribers know by email.
Questions or concerns
Please email me first at hello@justforty.com and I'll do my best to help. If you're not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
